About Richard S. Calabrese

Richard S. Calabrese Jr. built his academic foundation in numbers. He earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh, then turned to law at Villanova University School of Law. He completed a J.D. there and stayed on for an LL.M. in Taxation, a credential that shaped the path of his legal career.

After law school and the advanced tax degree, he entered practice in Pennsylvania. His training in accounting and tax positioned him to advise on the financial and regulatory aspects of business. He has worked on matters that require an understanding of both tax law and the practical bookkeeping, reporting and planning that businesses rely on.

Calabrese’s work covers tax issues for individuals and companies, and extends to business-related legal questions. He handles tax planning, compliance, and disputes that arise with state and federal tax authorities. He also assists business owners on entity selection, transactional tax consequences and the documentation that supports sound financial decisions.

Clients find his combination of an accounting undergraduate degree and an LL.M. in Taxation relevant when they need advice that bridges the legal and the numerical. That background informs how he reviews records, analyzes liabilities, and prepares filings. It also shapes how he communicates: explaining technical tax concepts in terms that clients can use when making choices about operations, investments and tax exposure.

He practices in Pennsylvania law and has experience working through the procedural aspects of tax controversies, including audits and administrative appeals. His practice also touches on business formation and governance matters where tax consequences are part of the legal analysis. He has represented small and midsize enterprises as well as individuals in matters where tax strategy affects broader legal outcomes.

At Calabrese Law Group, LLC, he applies his training to day-to-day client work. The firm handles routine tax compliance and more complex planning and dispute work. He takes a practical approach to problem solving, relying on documentation and analysis rather than broad promises.

Outside of case files and client meetings, he continues to follow developments in tax law and accounting standards. That ongoing attention helps him respond to changes that affect client liabilities and planning opportunities.

He currently practices at Calabrese Law Group, LLC, where his work centers on tax and business matters.
