About Tejal V.

Tejal V. Patel graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in 2004. She earned her J.D. after completing law school in Los Angeles and began building a practice that crosses state lines. Her legal education laid the groundwork for a career that has combined courtroom work with alternative dispute resolution and collaborative practice.

Early in her career Patel pursued admissions to multiple bars. She is admitted to practice in California, New Jersey, the District of Columbia, Pennsylvania and New York. Those admissions have allowed her to advise clients whose matters touch more than one jurisdiction. She also joined several professional organizations that reflect the areas of law she practices and the ways she works — including memberships in the South Jersey Collaborative Law Group and the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association.

Patel’s memberships include NJAPM, the Burlington County Bar Association and the International Academy for Collaborative Practitioners. The associations point to a practice that blends traditional family law representation with collaborative processes and mediation. Colleagues describe her as someone who uses structured settlement discussions and neutral facilitation to resolve disputes when possible. When cases require formal court action, she has handled contested matters in state and federal venues that fall within her admitted jurisdictions.

Clients who seek collaborative processes often turn to Patel because of that dual experience. She works on matters commonly found in family law practice: divorce, parenting plans, spousal and child support, and issues arising from blended families. She approaches each file with procedural attention, preparing documents and negotiating terms while keeping alternative dispute-resolution options on the table. Her work with the International Academy for Collaborative Practitioners reflects an ongoing interest in team-based, interest-driven solutions that aim to reduce the adversarial nature of family disputes.

Patel maintains a private practice under The Law Offices of Tejal V. Patel, LLC. She splits her time between consultations, negotiated settlements and court filings, depending on what a client’s situation requires. Her current practice handles family law matters through collaborative practice, mediation and litigation when necessary.
