About Tee
Tee Persad pursued an unconventional path into law. He earned a J.D. from the University of Akron in 1993 and completed a Master of Public Administration there the following year. Earlier study at New York University School of Law appears on his record as paralegal studies. That combination of legal training and public administration informs the practical approach he brings to his work.
He established CPLS, P.A. in 1995 and has served as its founder and senior lawyer since then. The firm has been his professional base for more than two decades. Over the years Persad built a practice that spans state and federal matters, and he has maintained active admissions across multiple jurisdictions.
Persad is admitted to practice before the 11th Circuit and the 3rd Circuit, as well as the Federal Circuit. His admissions also include the U.S. Supreme Court and the federal courts in Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These credentials reflect a career that covers trial and appellate venues. He is also a Florida Supreme Court certified mediator, a credential that signals regular involvement in alternative dispute resolution.
Beyond courtroom credentials, Persad is involved in professional and community institutions. He holds membership in the Florida Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and local organizations such as the Orange County Bar Association. He is listed with the Virgin Islands Bar Association and the federal courts in the Virgin Islands. On the national stage he belongs to the National Speakers Association. He has served as an educational advisor for Keiser University and Everest University, roles that tie his practice to legal education and public outreach.
Colleagues describe Persad as methodical. He tends to align procedural strategy with statutory and appellate considerations. His certification as a mediator complements his court admissions, allowing him to take cases through multiple dispute-resolution pathways. The mix of state, federal and appellate admission points to a practice that does not shy away from complex jurisdictional questions.
Persad’s career is marked by steady institutional involvement rather than headline litigation or public awards. He has kept active memberships and continued bar admissions since the mid-1990s. That continuity has allowed him to sustain a practice rooted in both litigation and dispute resolution. He practices at CPLS, P.A., concentrating on appellate work, federal and state court matters, and mediation.
