About Ted

Ted Houlehan built his academic foundation at Emory University, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science and Sociology in 2001. He returned to Kentucky for legal training and received a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2006. He remained at the University of Kentucky to complete an M.A. in Diplomacy and International Commerce in 2009. The sequence of degrees ties an undergraduate emphasis on social systems to graduate study of law, trade and international relations.

He practices in Kentucky and works from Wolfe & Houlehan PLLC. His path from law school into practice kept him in the state where he trained, and his academic interests have informed how he approaches questions that cross legal and commercial lines. Colleagues and clients see in that combination a practitioner who can read statutes and also think about how legal outcomes affect organizations and transactions.

Houlehan’s background in political science and sociology informs his view of how law interacts with institutions and communities. The M.A. in Diplomacy and International Commerce gave him additional perspective on business relationships that extend beyond state borders. These strands of study contribute to how he frames problems and evaluates options for clients who operate in Kentucky’s business and civic environments.

In practice he spends time advising individuals and businesses on matters arising under Kentucky law. He draws on legal research and the analytical skills developed in law school, balanced against practical concerns that matter to clients. He also works with colleagues at his firm to marshal resources when matters require additional specialist input or a team approach.

Outside the office, his education suggests an interest in the intersection of law, policy and commerce, though his day-to-day work focuses on tangible issues facing clients in this jurisdiction. He is active in the local legal community and maintains a practice in Kentucky courts and administrative forums. His writing and analytical work reflect a focus on clarity and on presenting options in ways that decision-makers can use.

He is an attorney at Wolfe & Houlehan PLLC and continues to serve clients in Kentucky. His current practice focuses on advising individuals and businesses on legal matters arising under Kentucky law.
