About Taylor Douglas

Taylor Douglas Martin earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2011. He stayed in-state for law school and received his J.D. from the William H. Bowen School of Law in 2014. The combination of a technical undergraduate degree and a law degree gave him an unusual early footing for legal work that crosses different kinds of practice and evidence.

While in law school and immediately after, Martin built practical experience through a sequence of clerkships. He worked at Scroggins Law Office in 2012, then spent time at Cross, Gunter, Witherspoon & Galchus, P.C., in 2013. In 2014 he served as a law clerk in the Arkansas Lawyer General's office. Those placements exposed him to courtroom procedure, client intake and the drafting tasks that shape early trial work.

Martin entered public service in 2015 as a deputy prosecuting lawyer in Arkansas's 20th Judicial District. He spent his early career on the other side of the courtroom. As a prosecutor he handled case preparation, witness interviews and motion practice. The role gave him front-line experience in criminal procedure and courtroom strategy. It also meant confronting the human and factual complexities that come with criminal filings.

In 2021 he moved into private practice and opened his own law office. He is the owner of T.D. Martin Law and operates under the business name Taylor D. Martin Law Office, PLLC. Running a small firm required shifting from casework alone to managing client relations, office operations and the business side of practice. He continues to draw on courtroom experience in those tasks.

Martin maintains memberships in the Arkansas Bar Association and in criminal defense organizations at both the state and national levels. Since 2021 he has been a member of the Arkansas Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Those memberships reflect a sustained engagement with criminal practice and peer networks that discuss evolving case law and trial techniques.

Colleagues describe Martin as pragmatic in court and thorough in preparation. He has handled matters on both sides of criminal cases, which informs how he evaluates discovery and builds defenses. His work balances litigation in the courthouse with counseling clients about practical outcomes. He currently practices from his Little Rock-area office and represents clients in criminal matters while managing his firm operations.
