About Tara R
Tara R Parker built a career that crosses law and public administration. She earned her J.D. from Michigan State University in 2012 and returned to the classroom to complete a Master of Public Administration at the University of Michigan–Flint in 2015. Those two degrees sit at the center of how she describes her work: legal practice informed by an awareness of government systems and administration.
Her first professional role after law school was as a staff lawyer at Legal Services of Eastern Michigan. She joined that organization in 2012 and spent her early years in practice handling the day-to-day tasks of a public interest lawyer. The position gave her sustained exposure to the mechanics of courtroom work, client intake, and the organizational side of running legal programs.
In 2015 she opened The Law Offices of Tara R. Parker, PLLC. She established the firm as a small practice serving clients in Michigan. Running a solo practice required balancing casework with the responsibilities of managing a business. That experience shaped how she approaches client service and office operations.
Beyond casework, Parker’s MPA offers a different set of tools. It introduced formal training in public policy, administrative procedure, and organizational management. Those elements influence how she evaluates legal problems that touch on government processes or regulatory matters. The combination of legal training and administrative study gives her perspective on both the substantive law and the frameworks in which legal disputes occur.
Parker maintains professional memberships and participates in the local legal community. Over the years she has kept ties to colleagues who practice in similar settings and to networks that support smaller firms and public interest lawyers. She lists Michigan as her jurisdiction and practices under the banner of her own firm.
Colleagues describe her as steady and practical in the way she manages files and advises clients. She favors clear explanations and a methodical approach to case preparation. Those habits track back to the early years she spent at a legal services provider and to the organizational emphasis of her graduate training.
She operates from The Law Offices of Tara R. Parker, PLLC and continues to handle legal matters for clients in Michigan, focusing her current practice on serving individuals through her firm.
