About Tara R
Tara R Devine earned her law degree from Marquette University Law School in 2003 after completing a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2000. She arrived in practice at a moment when regional litigation was shifting, and she moved quickly into firm work that required courtroom experience and steady case management. Her academic background placed her on a path toward trial practice and federal court appearances.
After law school she joined Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. and became a partner in 2004. That early promotion signaled an ability to take on responsibility and lead matters through all stages of litigation. Over the years she handled cases that required coordination across state and federal venues. Her rise at the firm was not abrupt. It reflected steady work handling discovery, depositions and motion practice in contested matters.
In 2018 she was named managing partner of the Lake County office of Salvi Schostok & Pritchard P.C. The role expanded her responsibilities beyond individual files. She oversees local operations, mentors associates and helps shape case strategy coming out of the office. The managing partner title also involves client-facing duties and local bar engagement. Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparation and concise in courtroom presentations.
Devine is admitted to practice in both Wisconsin and Illinois. She is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Her professional memberships include the Lake County Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Wisconsin State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. Those affiliations reflect repeated courtroom work and participation in continuing legal education across jurisdictions.
Her practice history shows sustained involvement in trial preparation and federal filings. She has managed teams on complex files and worked with experts when cases required technical analysis. The combination of state and federal admissions means she handles matters that begin in state courts and that sometimes proceed to federal court under diverse procedural rules.
Devine’s practice remains centered at Salvi Schostok & Pritchard P.C., where she continues to lead the Lake County office and supervise litigation brought in both state and federal forums. She currently concentrates her practice on civil litigation and trial work handled out of the firm’s Lake County office.
