About Tanieka

Tanieka Thompson-Mungo trained first as a social scientist and later as a lawyer. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Georgia State University in 2006 and went on to receive her Juris Doctor from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. The combination of social science and legal training shapes how she frames client matters and evaluates facts.

After law school she established her practice in Georgia. She is admitted to practice in the state and has been active in the local legal community. Since 2012 she has held membership in the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers, a connection that keeps her engaged with peers and current professional conversations. That long-term membership appears as a steady professional tie across more than a decade.

Her professional path moved from classroom and clinic work into private practice. Over time she built a firm identity that carries her name: Thompson Mungo Firm by the Law Office of Tanieka Thompson LLC. She handles the administrative and client-facing work that comes with running a small firm. Colleagues describe the work of a solo or small-firm practitioner as varied, and her practice reflects that range of daily legal demands.

Colleagues and clients note that lawyers who combine undergraduate study in social sciences with legal training often approach matters with attention to context and to how systems affect individual outcomes. That perspective informs how she prepares matters and communicates in writing and in person. Her law school training at Cooley provided the doctrinal backbone; her undergraduate training supplied a different set of tools for understanding client needs.

Outside of the office she keeps ties to professional associations and the networks those organizations create. Her continuing membership in the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers since 2012 suggests a long-term investment in professional relationships and in the exchange of ideas among peers.

Today she operates Thompson Mungo Firm by the Law Office of Tanieka Thompson LLC in Georgia. She is admitted to the Georgia bar and maintains an active practice there, handling the legal matters that come through her office and managing the business side of a small law practice.
