About Tamar
Tamar Terzian is a California lawyer whose career crosses public service, private practice and regulatory work. She completed undergraduate studies in political science at the University of California, Irvine in 2003 and earned her J.D. from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2007. Those academic foundations preceded a practice that has touched federal litigation, real estate matters and complex client counseling.
Her first legal roles included a federal clerkship. She served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert Kwan, where she supported courtroom preparation, legal research and drafting of opinions. That early exposure to judicial decision-making shaped how she approaches factual development and legal analysis in later roles.
After the clerkship, Terzian entered private practice as an associate at SulmeyerKupetz. At the firm she handled civil matters and assisted on litigation and transactional work for clients across sectors. The position gave her experience in case management, client advising and courtroom procedures. It also provided a bridge from academic training to high-volume practice in Los Angeles.
Terzian moved into public service as an Assistant United States Lawyer in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Los Angeles, Tax Division. In that role she worked on federal tax matters and enforcement issues. The position involved interaction with government investigators, preparation of filings in federal court and representation of the United States in tax-related litigation. Her time in the Tax Division added a federal-litigation dimension to a resume that already included state-law and transactional experience.
She holds a real estate broker license issued by the California Department of Real Estate and is licensed to practice law by the California Bar. That combination of credentials informs the range of matters she handles. It also enables a practical perspective when legal issues overlap with real estate transactions, compliance questions or regulatory concerns.
Terzian is the principal of Terzian Law Group, APC, where she continues to advise clients across several practice areas. Her work draws on courtroom experience from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, firm-side litigation practice and regulatory understanding gained as a licensed real estate broker. Her current work centers on tax-related matters, real estate issues and associated civil litigation in California.
