About T. Luke

T. Luke Abel earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from the University of Oklahoma in 2003. He stayed in Norman to complete his legal training and received his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2006. Those years in school anchored his ties to the state and to the courts where he would later practice.

He began practicing law in 2006 and has been identified with Abel Law Office since that time. Over the years he has built a steady practice rooted in Oklahoma. He appears regularly in state court and in federal court proceedings across the region.

Abel is admitted to practice in Oklahoma and in the United States Courts for the Western, Eastern and Northern Districts of Oklahoma. He is also admitted to the Tenth Circuit. Those admissions allow him to handle matters at both the trial and appellate levels when cases require it.

His professional involvement extends beyond courtroom work. He holds current memberships in the Oklahoma State Bar and the Oklahoma County Bar Association. He is active in organizations that address civil justice issues, including the Oklahoma Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. His affiliations also include the American Bar Association, the Oklahoma Bar Foundation, Oklahoma Legal Aid and Oklahoma Lawyers for Children.

Colleagues describe Abel as thorough and practical in his approach to case preparation. He tends to build files that anticipate procedural challenges and potential appeals. He places emphasis on clear communication with clients about court processes and timelines. That style reflects years of steady courtroom work rather than a reliance on any single litigator’s playbook.

Outside the courtroom he maintains ties to the local legal community through the bar and nonprofit legal organizations. Those connections provide a regular forum for exchanging views on practice developments, procedural changes and client service strategies. He has used those forums to stay current with changes in federal and state procedure that affect litigation in Oklahoma.

Today he practices from Abel Law Office. He represents clients in both state and federal forums and handles cases that proceed through trial and, where necessary, to the Tenth Circuit. His practice is concentrated on litigation in Oklahoma and in the federal districts where he is admitted to practice.
