Sven David Buncher is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1996. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Buncher is the managing partner at The Buncher Law Corporation, a law firm located in Irvine, California. He has been practicing law for over 29 years, serving clients throughout Orange County and the greater Southern California area.
Mr. Buncher earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he graduated in 1996. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at San Diego State University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1993. During his time at the University of San Diego, he was awarded a First Year Academic Scholarship and was recognized as a Moot Court Competition Champion in 1994.
Mr. Buncher concentrates his practice in the areas of family law and business litigation. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving divorce, child custody, spousal support, property division, and business disputes. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts. He is recognized by the State Bar of California as a Certified Family Law Specialist, a designation held by only 1% of California attorneys.
Throughout his career, Mr. Buncher has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Orange, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at Murchison & Cumming, Marlin & Saltzman, and Campell, Wolfenzon, Sourhada & Volk.
Mr. Buncher is an active member of the Orange County Bar Association, serving on the Family Law and Business Litigation Sections. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Orange County Trial Lawyers Association. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers in 2021 and 2025, and has been Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell in 2018. Mr. Buncher is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Orange County effectively.
