About Susan Schroeder
Susan Schroeder Clark built a legal foundation at Monmouth University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science in 1988. She went on to study law at Widener University, receiving her J.D. in 1992. Those classroom years set the stage for a career that has moved between the courtroom, the bench and the classroom.
Clark began her public-service career in Monmouth County. In 1994 she joined the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and rose to the role of Assistant Prosecutor and Trial Team Supervisor. She handled trials and supervised prosecutors early in her career, gaining hands-on experience in criminal prosecution and courtroom procedure. That period shaped how she approaches evidence, case preparation and trial strategy.
Her involvement in legal education came in 2005 when she served as an adjunct professor at Monmouth University. There she returned to the campus that launched her undergraduate studies and taught students about the practical aspects of law. The teaching role reflected a steady interest in mentoring younger lawyers and in bringing real-world perspective into the classroom.
In 2015 Clark took on municipal judicial duties. She served as a judge for both the Tinton Falls and Howell Township municipal courts that year. Those assignments added bench experience to her résumé and broadened her familiarity with municipal procedure, local ordinance matters and calendar management. Her tenure on the bench was one part of a career that has straddled advocacy and adjudication.
Outside courtrooms and classrooms she has been active in professional and community organizations. She has served as a trustee of the Monmouth County Bar Association since 2009. She holds membership in the New Jersey State Bar and has been involved with the New Jersey Special Education Law Advocacy Group since 2019. These roles reflect an interest in local bar activities and in issues involving special education law.
Clark practices from the Susan Clark Law Group. Her background in the prosecutor’s office, years on the municipal bench and association work inform how she represents clients and approaches cases. She handles matters that draw on municipal court experience, prosecution practice and special education advocacy at Susan Clark Law Group, where she currently practices.
