About Susan C.

Susan C. Odess earned her law degree from the University of Miami School of Law after completing undergraduate studies at The Catholic University of America. The combination of a D.C.-area undergraduate education and a legal education in Miami set the stage for a career centered in Florida federal and state courts.

Early in her legal training she spent time inside the federal courthouse. In 2011 she served as a judicial intern to Judge Adalberto Jordan in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. That year provided a firsthand view of federal litigation and court procedure. It also offered the kind of practical courtroom exposure young lawyers rarely get from the classroom alone.

She later joined the private bar. In 2024 she worked as a lawyer at Siegfried Rivera, a role that placed her back into active practice in Florida. Her time there involved day-to-day representation and the kinds of client-facing responsibilities that define litigation practice at small and mid-size firms. Those responsibilities helped prepare her for partnership-level work.

Today she is a partner at Freidin Brown, P.A. In that capacity she shares management duties alongside client work. The firm lists multiple offices, and her role reflects both case handling and internal firm responsibilities. Colleagues describe her as steady and methodical in the courtroom and in strategy sessions. Clients see someone who explains options clearly and proceeds deliberately.

Odess is admitted to practice in Florida and is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. She holds active membership in the Florida Bar and participates in the Florida Association for Women Lawyers. Those memberships keep her connected to local bar activities and professional development programs that shape practice norms in the state.

Her career path traces a common arc: solid academic credentials, an early federal clerkship experience, years in private practice, and a transition into firm leadership. The move from associate-level roles to partnership reflects an accumulation of courtroom time, client management, and firm service.

She maintains a practice that handles matters in Florida state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
