Scott J. Jontiff built a legal foundation at the University of Florida, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in 1984. He continued his studies at the University of Miami School of Law and received his Juris Doctor in 1988. Those years established the academic grounding that would carry him into private practice and federal court work.
He entered practice in Florida and has maintained an active presence in the state's legal community. Records show he has been in good standing since 1989. In 1991 he took on a leadership role as managing partner of Jontiff & Jontiff. That position put him at the center of firm operations, client development and litigation strategy, and it has defined much of his professional life since.

In 1993 he qualified to practice before the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida as a member of its Trial Bar.
