About Summer G

Summer G Walker earned her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2004. She completed her studies after entering the program in 2001, a period that set the foundation for the practical work she would pursue in the years ahead. Her legal training combined classroom instruction with clinics and coursework suited to courtroom practice and client counseling.

Early in her career she joined Legal Services Alabama. In 2006 she served as a supervising lawyer for the Statewide Hotline Network, handling an array of calls from across Alabama. That role placed her at the intersection of law and community needs. It required quick legal assessment, clear communication with callers, and coordination with other providers of civil legal aid.

Walker holds certification as a Guardian ad Litem from the Alabama Administrative Office of Courts. That credential authorizes her to represent the interests of children in custody and related proceedings. Those matters commonly call for factual investigation, interviews with family members and professionals, and written reports to judges. Her certification indicates training in those tasks and the procedural duties the court expects of a guardian ad litem.

She is admitted to practice in Alabama and maintains memberships in local and state bar organizations. Her affiliations include the Birmingham Bar Association and the Family Law Section of the Alabama State Bar. Those memberships place her among attorneys who handle domestic relations, custody disputes, and other family law matters and provide a channel for continuing legal education and peer exchange.

Across her work there is a throughline of hands-on legal service. Much of her experience involves helping people resolve disputes that affect families and children. She now practices in Alabama, concentrating on family law and serving as a guardian ad litem in custody and child welfare matters.
