About Steven T
Steven T Chesebro studied legal issues from an early stage. He earned a Bachelor of Science in legal studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and continued his legal training at Marquette University Law School, where he completed a J.D. in 2008 with concentrations in business law and trusts and estates. Those years established the foundation for a practice that blends transactional work and community-facing legal services.
After law school Chesebro moved into private practice. In 2011 he opened Chesebro Law Office as its owner. Two years later he joined Consigny Law Office, S.C., taking a lawyer role that included work out of a Brodhead office. The sequence of roles shows a lawyer comfortable running a small practice and functioning within a larger firm structure. It also reflects steady involvement in the Rock County legal community over more than a decade.
His professional memberships run long and deep in the region. He has been a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association since 2011 and of the Rock County Bar Association since the same year, serving as vice president of the Rock County Bar beginning in 2013. He also joined BNI in 2012 and has sat on Forward Janesville’s Government Relations Board since 2013. Community ties extend beyond legal organizations: he has been on the board of Janesville Irish Fest U.A. since 2014.
Colleagues describe consistency rather than flash. Chesebro has balanced ownership responsibilities at his own office with the demands of firm work. That has involved client counseling, transactional matters and the administrative tasks of practice management. Chesebro is licensed to practice law in Wisconsin and continues to divide his time between his own office experience and his role at Consigny Law Office, S.C. He currently concentrates his practice on business law and trust and estate matters.
