Steven Solomon Feder is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1983. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Feder is a senior partner at Lowthorp Richards, LLP, a law firm located in Oxnard, California. He has been practicing law for over 42 years, serving clients throughout Ventura County and the surrounding areas.
Mr. Feder earned his Juris Doctor and Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law, graduating in 1983. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at the University of Michigan, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering in 1980. During his time at the University of San Diego, he was a Merit Scholar, served as a staff writer for the law school journal, and was a finalist in the Attorney-Client Moot Court competition.
Mr. Feder concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, complex trusts, business associations, corporations, and sophisticated tax matters. He is a certified specialist in estate planning, trust, and probate law by the State Bar of California. His practice encompasses all stages of legal proceedings, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Feder has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Ventura, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States Tax Court. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Ventura for five years.
Mr. Feder is an active member of the Estate Planning Law Section of the Ventura County Bar Association, where he has served on the Education Committee for many years. He is also a member of the California State Bar Association. He is a frequent lecturer on estate planning, corporate, and tax topics and has taught as an adjunct professor at the Santa Barbara and Ventura Colleges of Law, as well as at California Lutheran University. Mr. Feder is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Ventura County effectively.
