About Steven

Steven Pisani earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and political science from New York University in 1997. He stayed in the academic world for several more years before attending the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he completed his J.D. in 2005 with coursework concentrated in criminal and appellate law. The combination of scientific training and legal study shaped an analytical approach to casework early in his career.

His legal work began before law school in New York. In 2001 he worked as a white collar defense paralegal at Morvillo, Abramowitz, Grand, Iason & Silberberg. That position exposed him to complex documentary matters and white collar litigation practice. After law school he gained trial-side experience as an intern prosecutor in 2006 at the Englewood Prosecutor’s Office, where he handled courtroom duties and case preparation under supervision.

Pisani has maintained ties to criminal defense and juvenile representation through professional memberships. He joined the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar and the Juvenile Defense Bar in 2008, and he became a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2009. He has also volunteered through Metro Volunteer Lawyers since 2008, taking on pro bono matters and community referrals when available. Those associations reflect a career that moves between public service, defense practice and advocacy for young people involved in the justice system.

Colleagues describe his background as a blend of prosecutorial exposure and defense experience. He brings courtroom familiarity from his time in Englewood and practical litigation support skills from his paralegal years at a New York firm. His law school concentration in criminal and appellate law aligns with those early roles and informs his work today. He is licensed to practice in Colorado.

Pisani maintains an office in the Dominion Tower South building. He handles a range of criminal matters and appellate work and accepts juvenile defense cases and volunteer referrals when his calendar permits. He currently practices criminal and appellate law in Colorado.
