About Steven
Steven Kapustin earned his law degree from Temple University in 1972 after completing undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania in 1968. Those credentials place him among a generation of lawyers who entered practice during a period of legal and regulatory change. He maintains ties to both schools through professional networks and alumni activities.
His career has included a long tenure at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP, where he serves as a partner. That role involves supervising complex matters and working alongside other litigators and counsel on cases that reach federal forums. Over the years he has built a practice that crosses both litigation and alternative dispute resolution.
Kapustin’s practice is rooted in franchise law and federal-court litigation. He handles franchise disputes, contract controversies and matters that require appearances before federal appellate panels. He also handles dispute resolution and mediation work; he is a certified mediator in South Carolina. In addition, his work touches on petroleum marketing and related regulatory issues, reflected by his involvement in industry-focused committees.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and before several federal appellate courts, including the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 10th Circuits. He maintains active memberships in the Pennsylvania State Bar and the Federal Bar Association. He is also a member of several American Bar Association groups, including the Forum on Franchising, the Dispute Resolution Section and the Environment, Energy and Resources Section’s Petroleum Marketing Committee. Locally, he participates in Montgomery County Bar Association programs, including its Franchise Law and Federal Courts Committee and the Law & Liberty Lecture series.
In his current practice at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP, Kapustin combines courtroom work, appellate filings and mediation services. He accepts matters that involve federal courts and franchising disputes and continues to serve clients through both litigation and negotiated resolution. He currently practices at Reger Rizzo & Darnall LLP, handling franchise law, federal-court matters and dispute resolution including mediation.
