Steven Joseph Packey is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1997. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Packey is the founder and president of Packey Law Corporation, a law firm specializing in tax law, located in El Dorado Hills, California. He has been practicing law for over 28 years, serving clients throughout the Sacramento metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
Mr. Packey earned his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. After completing his law degree, he pursued advanced studies at the University of San Diego School of Law, obtaining a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation in 1999. Prior to his legal education, he completed undergraduate studies in English and Finance, equipping him with a strong foundation in both the humanities and business disciplines.
Mr. Packey concentrates his practice in the areas of tax law, tax audits, tax preparation, tax resolution, and business consulting. He represents individuals and businesses in matters involving tax disputes, IRS negotiations, estate planning, and corporate formation and dissolution. His practice encompasses all stages of legal proceedings, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Packey has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Sacramento, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Tax Court. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Sacramento for several years.
Mr. Packey is an active member of the California State Bar Association. He holds membership in the American Bar Association Section of Taxation. He is also a certified mediator through the Sacramento County Superior Court mediation program. Mr. Packey is fluent in English, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of the Sacramento area effectively.
