About Steven J.
Steven J. Seidman has been a fixture in Illinois legal circles for decades. He built his foundation at the University of Illinois, where he earned a B.S. in 1978, and finished his formal legal training at DePaul College of Law, receiving his J.D. in 1981. Those years shaped a career centered on courtroom work and professional association involvement.
After law school Seidman entered private practice and later became a partner at Seidman, Margulis & Fairman, LLP. He has litigated in state and federal venues and maintains admission in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Illinois bar. His place at the firm has seen him handle trial matters and counsel clients through contested hearings and appeals.
Seidman’s professional affiliations reflect the kinds of cases he regularly handles. He holds memberships in the American Association for Justice, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Workers Compensation Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Those groups represent trial lawyers and advocates for injured parties, and his long-standing participation signals sustained engagement with civil litigation and workers’ compensation practice areas.
Colleagues describe him as experienced in courtroom procedure and trial advocacy. He has practiced in federal and state trial courts and has experience appearing before the Seventh Circuit. His work has required drafting pleadings, arguing motions, preparing witnesses, and taking cases to verdict when necessary. His training at DePaul and early professional years set the groundwork for this litigation practice.
Outside the courtroom Seidman has remained active within bar organizations. He has attended conferences, contributed to continuing legal education settings, and taken part in committee work through the bar groups to which he belongs. Those activities have kept him current on developments in trial practice and workers’ compensation law.
Today Seidman continues as a partner at Seidman, Margulis & Fairman, LLP, where he serves clients in matters that involve contested hearings, appeals, and trial litigation. His current practice emphasizes courtroom representation and client advocacy in civil and workers’ compensation disputes.
