About Steven Eugene
Steven Eugene Clark graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in 1976. He entered law school in a turbulent decade for legal education and finished his degree at a time when federal courts were reshaping many areas of practice. He joined the American Bar Association in 1975, while still a student, and carried that national membership into his professional life.
Early in his career he gained admission to the State Bar of Texas in 1978. Over the years he added admissions to the Fifth Circuit and to the U.S. Supreme Court, a credential set that reflects work beyond the local trial level. His career spans the late 1970s through the present, a period that brought significant changes in both state and federal practice.
Clark has maintained longstanding ties to professional organizations. He has been a member of the Dallas Bar Association since 1980 and has continued his membership in the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association. Those affiliations have been a steady part of his practice life, offering a professional network and access to continuing legal education.
Courtroom and appellate experience are consistent threads in his record. Admission to federal appellate courts and to the nation’s high court indicates he has handled matters that progressed beyond initial trials. He has worked in both trial courts and on appeals, addressing procedural and substantive issues that arise at different stages of litigation. Over decades he has navigated changes in appellate procedure and preservation of issues for review.
Outside formal memberships, his professional pace reflects the habits of a long-practicing lawyer: attention to procedural detail, familiarity with filing requirements, and frequent contact with court clerks and opposing counsel. Those routine tasks shape the daily work that underpins any sustained litigation practice.
He continues to practice in Texas and remains admitted to the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Today his work centers on handling both trial and appellate matters in state and federal forums.
