About Steven Anthony
Steven Anthony Birocco built a legal career that moves from classroom study to courtroom practice across Virginia. He practices criminal defense and criminal representation statewide. His path runs through public defense systems and then into private practice.
Birocco earned a Bachelor of Science from the College of William and Mary, completing studies in psychology and history in 1999. He went on to law school at George Mason University School of Law, receiving a J.D. in 2007. The sequence of degrees set up a practice shaped by procedural detail and an understanding of human behavior.
After law school he joined Lexolution LLC in 2007. A year later he began work with the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission. There he handled a steady docket of cases and courtroom appearances. That period sharpened trial practice and client counseling under the constraints of public-defense work.
At the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission Birocco earned lead counsel certifications across multiple case types: misdemeanor, juvenile, and felony. Those certifications reflect the range of matters he carried in court, from lower-level offenses to serious felony charges and matters involving younger defendants. The experience required managing investigations, preparing evidence, and arguing motions in a fast-paced environment.
In 2016 he opened Birocco Law PC and took on the role of owner and lawyer. He also joined professional organizations relevant to criminal defense work. He has been a member of the National College of DUI Defense since 2015 and a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2016. Those affiliations connect him to continuing legal education and to peers who handle complex DUI and criminal cases nationwide.
Clients will find a practice that includes courtroom advocacy and case preparation in criminal matters. He is admitted to practice in Virginia and draws on years of trial work in both public defense and private practice. The office handles matters ranging from DUI and misdemeanors to juvenile and felony cases across the state. His current practice concentrates on criminal defense and related representation in Virginia.
