About Stephen W.

Stephen W. Thompson graduated from Wabash College in 2007 with a B.A. in religion and political science. He went on to earn his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2010. Those years set the shape of his legal training. He combined liberal arts study with law school rigor and moved into practice soon after.

Early in his career Thompson cut his teeth in firm settings where courtroom work and client intake often intersected. By 2020 he was a senior associate at Webster & Garino LLC, handling litigation and preparing cases for trial. The role exposed him to the practical demands of personal injury and tort practice, including discovery strategy and witness preparation. He balanced casework with the procedural grind that comes from taking matters beyond settlement talks.

In 2023 Thompson joined Garrison Law Office as a personal injury lawyer. The move placed him in a smaller firm atmosphere where he could follow cases through all stages. He has experience drafting pleadings, arguing motions, and negotiating with insurers. Court appearances before state trial courts and filings in federal appellate matters are part of his record. He is admitted to practice in Indiana and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Thompson keeps active in professional circles. He is a member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, where he has attended continuing legal education and trial skills sessions. Those settings give him access to peer review of trial tactics and recent developments in tort law. He also stays current on civil procedure and evidentiary trends through regular training and courtroom observation.

Colleagues describe his approach as methodical. He breaks complex factual puzzles into manageable parts and then maps legal options onto those facts. Case files show work on liability questions, damage evaluations, and settlement frameworks. He is comfortable in both negotiation settings and on motion practice, and he places an emphasis on documenting client narratives clearly for juries and judges.

Outside the courtroom, Thompson’s background in religion and political science informs how he frames questions of credibility and motive. It lends a practical sensibility to jury storytelling. He lives and works in Indiana and maintains his office at Garrison Law Office, LLC. He currently practices at Garrison Law Office, LLC, where he handles personal injury matters.
