About Deidra
Deidra Haynes earned her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2009. Her legal education provided exposure to litigation and appellate practice. She completed internships and clerkships that would shape the early years of her career.
Early in her training she worked as a domestic violence intern in the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office in 2006. She served as a judicial law clerk for the Indiana Court of Appeals in 2007 and spent a summer in 2008 as a law clerk with the Indiana State Public Defender’s Office. Those roles put her on both sides of the courtroom: advising prosecutors, supporting criminal defense teams and assisting appellate judges with legal research and opinions.
She began practicing at Barnes & Thornburg LLP in 2009. That position followed directly after law school and gave her experience at a large firm handling a range of matters. At the same time she launched her own practice. She is listed as chief executive officer of The Law Office of Deidra N. Haynes, an enterprise she established early in her career and continues to operate.
Her work has also moved into the corporate and administrative arenas. In 2012 she held multiple roles at Deals Used Tires, serving as a corporate lawyer, human resource director and contract specialist. Two years later she worked as a contracts specialist for American Structurepoint, an engineering and architecture firm. Those positions involved drafting and reviewing agreements, advising on employment issues and managing contract processes within business settings.
Across public and private roles, Haynes has accumulated experience in criminal matters, appellate procedures, corporate contracts and human resources issues. Her background includes courtroom exposure, appellate research and hands-on corporate legal work. She is licensed to practice in Indiana and operates The Law Office of Deidra N. Haynes LLC. She currently focuses her practice on corporate and contract work, employment and human resources counseling, and litigation support in Indiana.
