About Stephen Michael

Stephen Michael Miller earned his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School in 1987. He completed his legal education in Washington, D.C., at a time when the national legal landscape was shifting on issues from corporate regulation to emerging technology. The degree set the stage for a multi-jurisdictional practice that would span the mid-Atlantic region.

After law school, Miller established his practice in the neighboring states of Delaware and Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice in both jurisdictions and has handled matters that required appearances in state courts and administrative forums. Over the years he has navigated the procedural differences between the two states and built a practice that reflects those distinct legal environments.

Colleagues describe Miller as methodical in case preparation. He approaches fact patterns carefully and places emphasis on procedural precision. That approach has guided work on contested matters and transactional files. He has advised clients on disputes and on routine matters that nonetheless required attention to statutory detail. His work often involves coordinating filings and responses across state lines.

Miller's career has kept him engaged with the practical side of law practice. He has dealt with litigation deadlines, discovery schedules, and hearings. He also prepares documents, manages client communications, and assesses risk as cases evolve. The combination of courtroom experience and office-based preparation informs how he advises clients and structures legal strategy.

At Morris James LLP, Miller contributes that experience to the firm’s broader practice. He is part of a team that handles matters arising under Delaware and Pennsylvania law. His practice has a steady orientation toward representing clients through discrete disputes and ongoing legal needs. He balances contested proceedings with the work necessary to prevent escalation when possible.

Outside of casework, Miller maintains professional contacts across the two jurisdictions. He has stayed current on procedural changes and court rulings that affect typical litigation and transactional workflows. That continual attention to the operating rules of state courts is a practical asset for clients who face deadlines and jurisdictional questions.

He currently practices at Morris James LLP, representing clients in matters that arise under Delaware and Pennsylvania law.
