Stephen D — Koehler is an attorney specializing in business law, appeals, and landlord-tenant disputes. He earned his Bachelor of Science in English and Computer Science from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1987. Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued a Juris Doctor at Wake Forest University School of Law, graduating in 1991. Admitted to practice in North Carolina's state courts, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Western Districts of North Carolina, Mr. Koehler has cultivated over 30 years of experience in civil litigation. Throughout his career, Mr.
Koehler has managed a diverse array of cases — His expertise encompasses contract disputes, construction law, collections, and commercial landlord-tenant conflicts. Additionally, he has handled employment law cases, trade secret and non-compete disputes, consumer fraud, and personal injury claims. His practice also includes condemnation and zoning disputes, products liability, criminal defense, automobile negligence, premises liability, and workers' compensation matters. This experience allows him to navigate complex legal issues effectively, providing his clients with informed representation. In 1999, Mr. Koehler founded his own law firm, which later evolved into Koehler & Associates. Outside of his professional commitments, Mr. Koehler resides in Waxhaw, North Carolina, with his wife, Valerie, and their three sons—James, Andrew, and Nicholas. He is passionate about sports and serves as a high school and college sports official, refereeing football, lacrosse, and volleyball.
