Stephen Allen Gershman is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1976 and holds bar number 70941. He has been practicing law for over four decades, serving clients throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
Mr. Gershman earned his Juris Doctor degree from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1976. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Pennsylvania State University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1972. During his time at Pepperdine, he developed a strong foundation in legal principles that have guided his extensive career.
Mr. Gershman concentrates his practice in the areas of family law and domestic violence. He represents individuals in matters involving divorce, legal separation, child custody and support, property division, paternity, and domestic violence cases. His practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts.
Throughout his career, Mr. Gershman has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Los Angeles and the United States District Court for the Central District of California. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Century City for five years.
Mr. Gershman is an active member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the California State Bar Association. He holds membership in the American Bar Association Section of Family Law. He is also a certified family law specialist through the State Bar of California. Mr. Gershman is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing him to serve the diverse communities of Los Angeles County effectively.
