Stanley Dawe Prowse is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. He was admitted to the California State Bar in 1975. His license is currently in active status. Mr. Prowse is the principal attorney at the Law Office of Stanley D. Prowse, a firm located in Carlsbad, California. He has been practicing law for over 50 years, serving clients throughout San Diego County and the surrounding areas.
Mr. Prowse earned his Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School in 1973. Prior to law school, he completed his undergraduate education at Yale University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree. During his time at Harvard, he developed a strong foundation in legal principles, which has informed his diverse legal practice.
Mr. Prowse concentrates his practice in the areas of family law, real estate law, and civil litigation. He represents clients in matters involving divorce, child custody and support, property division, and spousal support. In real estate law, he handles transactions, landlord-tenant disputes, and property disputes. His civil litigation experience includes representing both plaintiffs and defendants in various disputes, encompassing all stages of litigation, from initial case evaluation to trial proceedings.
Throughout his career, Mr. Prowse has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of San Diego, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding his own firm, he worked as an associate at both large and small law firms in Atlanta, San Diego, and Baltimore, and served as Associate General Counsel for Shapell Industries in Beverly Hills, California.
Mr. Prowse is an active member of the California State Bar Association. He is also a Certified Family Law Specialist, a designation conferred by the California Board of Legal Specialization, which requires extensive experience and education in family law. He has served as a Mediator and Judge Pro-Tem, contributing to the legal community beyond his private practice. Mr. Prowse is fluent in English and French, allowing him to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
