About Stacey Feeley
Stacey Feeley Cavanagh earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1995 after completing a B.A. in English at Boston College in 1992. Her legal education combined a liberal arts grounding with three years of law study in Chicago. The chronology of degrees shaped an approach that values clear writing and close analysis.
She built her career in Illinois. After law school she entered practice in the state and over time assumed increasing responsibility on complex matters. She is a partner at Cavanagh Law Group, where she shares management duties and client work. Her role at the firm encompasses case strategy, client counseling and the day-to-day demands of running a small firm.
Her professional memberships include the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Women’s Bar Association. She maintains those memberships while practicing in Illinois. Participation in these organizations keeps her connected to local developments in court procedures, continuing legal education and peer networks.
Colleagues describe her as methodical in preparation. She emphasizes plain language in client communications and written submissions. Her training in English contributes to that emphasis. She prepares depositions, motions and briefs with attention to structure and clarity. She also handles client meetings and courtroom advocacy when cases advance to trial settings.
She has experience managing matters from intake through resolution. That includes evaluating claims, developing litigation plans, negotiating settlements and, when necessary, presenting cases in court. Over more than two decades of practice she has steered matters for individuals and small businesses, balancing legal analysis against practical client concerns.
Outside the office she has remained involved in bar activities and professional programming. She attends seminars and contributes to discussions on trial practice and civil procedure. Those activities inform her daily work and help her stay current on legal developments affecting clients in Illinois.
She currently practices in Illinois as a partner at Cavanagh Law Group, handling cases and advising clients.
