About Sonya
Sonya Tamiry built her academic foundation at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she earned a B.A. in Global and International Studies and completed a minor in Philosophy. She went on to study law at Pepperdine University School of Law, completing her J.D. before beginning her legal career. The combination of interdisciplinary undergraduate work and formal legal training shaped an approach that values context as much as doctrine.
After law school, Tamiry joined Structure Law Group, LLP and has worked there as a lawyer. She is licensed to practice in California. Her professional affiliations include membership in the American Society of International Law since 2016, an association that tracks developments beyond domestic practice and provides a forum for comparative legal scholarship. That membership, together with her undergraduate studies, reflects an ongoing interest in international legal questions.
Colleagues describe her as methodical and attentive to detail. She approaches matters by breaking them down into discrete issues and then assembling the necessary legal and factual pieces. She has experience operating inside a firm environment where cases and transactions require coordination across teams and specialties. Tamiry’s training at Pepperdine and her time at Structure Law Group gave her exposure to the practical side of lawyering: drafting, client counseling, and the procedural steps that move matters forward.
Outside of courtrooms and conference rooms, Tamiry’s background in philosophy informs how she frames legal questions. It shows up in how she weighs competing principles and organizes arguments. She maintains professional ties through association membership and remains engaged with developments in international legal thought. She practices law at Structure Law Group, LLP in California, where she represents clients in the firm’s matters and handles legal work on their behalf.
