About Simon

Simon Stepanyan arrived in the United States after completing his first law degree in France. He earned an LL.B. from Université Jean Moulin Lyon III in 2012 and then pursued graduate study at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, receiving an LL.M. in Business Law in 2014. He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Business Law from USC Gould. Those credentials reflect training in both civil law and American business law traditions.

His early years in practice began at the Margarian Law Office. He joined the firm as a law clerk in 2014 and was on staff as a lawyer in 2015. In those roles he handled legal research, drafted pleadings and memoranda, and supported client matters under the supervision of senior attorneys. The experience gave him day-to-day exposure to case preparation and courtroom procedures as well as the office-side work that supports client files.

In 2017 he established Stepanyan Law Office and took on the role of managing lawyer. That move shifted his responsibilities to include firm administration and direct client counseling. He oversees case strategy, supervises matter intake, and manages the operational side of the practice in addition to his legal work. The office operates in California, where he is licensed to practice.

Stepanyan’s graduate work in business law informs much of his practice. He advises on business-related matters and handles transactional documents, contract review, and corporate governance issues. He assists individuals and small businesses navigating agreements and regulatory concerns, relying on the comparative perspective he gained from training in both France and the United States. His background allows him to address cross-border questions when they arise and to frame business issues in clear legal terms.

Colleagues and clients describe him as straight-talking and detail-oriented. He favors clear written work and methodical file management. In the courtroom he is prepared; in the office he tends to the practical steps that move a matter forward. He also maintains ties to legal education through his graduate-level study and continued attention to developments in business law.

Today he leads Stepanyan Law Office in California. He maintains an active practice centered on business law, contracts, and transactional matters for businesses and individuals.
