About Sherrod
Sherrod Seward earned a Juris Doctor from Cleveland State University in 2012 after completing a Bachelor of Science in Marketing at Hampton University in 2009. He moved from the classroom into roles that bridged law, finance and insurance. The combination of business training and legal education shaped a career that has crossed public and private sectors.
Early in his professional life Seward worked in trade finance and business development. In 2014 he served as a broker at the Export-Import Bank of the United States and also worked as a business development officer at International Risk Consultants. Those positions placed him at the intersection of credit insurance, export support and risk assessment. He later shifted toward consultancy and insurance operations, serving as principal consultant for Plug Finance Hub, LLC in 2016.
By 2017 Seward was involved in property and casualty insurance with Moheyer Insurance Advisors. That role followed his earlier brokerage work and deepened his practical experience in insurance placement and client advisement. He holds certification as a property and casualty insurance broker in the State of North Carolina and is recognized as a broker for credit insurance by the Export-Import Bank. He has also taken part in the Export Legal Assistance Network.
Seward’s professional affiliations reflect a blend of regional engagement and subject-matter interest. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s North Carolina chapter and maintains memberships with the Charlotte Chamber, the Charlotte Mecklenburg Black Chamber of Commerce and the Charlotte World Affairs Council. These ties connect him to local business communities and international trade networks alike.
He operates from multiple offices in the region. His headquarters are in Charlotte, with additional locations in Greenville, North Carolina, and Columbus, Ohio. There is a South Charlotte office where Spanish-language services are available. The geographic spread of those offices supports both corporate and individual clients across state lines.
Seward’s work sits at the crossroads of insurance brokerage, export credit and immigration-related matters. He has moved between in-house roles, consultancy and advisory positions, carrying practical experience from each stop. He currently focuses his practice on property and casualty insurance and credit insurance brokerage, along with immigration-related matters across his regional offices.
