About Sheila
Sheila Kelly built a legal career that blends private practice with active local engagement. She earned her J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law and established roots in Minnesota law circles soon after. Her education at William Mitchell provided the foundation for a practice based in a single state, and she has remained active in the region ever since.
Early in her career Kelly moved into roles that connected courtroom work and community service. She has been involved in the Ramsey County Bar Association and the Minnesota Bar Association, taking part in committee work and local events. Between 2011 and 2014 she co-chaired the Ramsey County Bar Association Solo Small Section, a post that put her in frequent contact with lawyers who run their own small firms and solo practices.
Her association work extended to statewide elder law matters. From 2011 to 2014 she served as a director on the Minnesota Bar Association Elder Law Governing Council. That position placed her among attorneys and policymakers discussing the legal needs of older adults and the practice issues that affect attorneys who represent them. She has also been a member of Minnesota Women Lawyers, a network that connects female attorneys across the state.
Outside the bar, Kelly has kept a local civic profile. She is a current member of the White Bear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and has served as an advisor to the chamber since 2014. That role links her to local business leaders and community organizations. The combination of bar leadership and civic service shows a pattern: she moves between running a practice and contributing to the institutions that support lawyers and small businesses.
Kelly operates under the firm name Sheila J. Kelly Law Office, LLC. She maintains her practice in Minnesota and continues to participate in both county and state bar activities. Her work has involved leadership positions in solo and small firm circles and in elder law governance, and she remains involved in the White Bear Lake community through the local chamber of commerce. She currently practices at Sheila J. Kelly Law Office, LLC, maintaining a solo practice in Minnesota.
