About Shawn S
Shawn S Hashemi trained first as an engineer and later as a lawyer. He earned a B.S. in Construction Engineering Technology from Texas Tech University in 2000 and a J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law in 2010. He also completed the Dallas Bar Association Trial Academy, a program that sharpened courtroom skills early in his legal career.
His professional life began on job sites. He worked as an assistant to a general area superintendent at Skihi Enterprises in 2002 and served as a construction project manager for The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company in 2004. Those years on large commercial projects gave him practical insight into construction processes and contract administration. They also provided ground-level experience that later informed his transition into legal practice.
Hashemi moved into law practice in the mid-2010s. He held lawyer positions at Bush Rudnicki Shelton P.C. and Hermes Law, P.C. in 2016. In 2017 he opened Hashemi Law PLLC as managing lawyer, and in 2019 he took a partner role at Chalaki Law P.C. He also maintains a professional association with GoSuits.com beginning in 2019. Across those roles he handled matters that intersect construction, contracts and litigation.
He is admitted to practice in Texas and in all four federal districts in the state: Northern, Eastern, Southern and Western Districts of Texas. He is an active member of local and state bar organizations. Current memberships include the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, the Dallas Bar Association Construction Law Section, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, the State Bar of Texas and the Denton County Bar Association. He also belongs to industry groups such as the Dallas Builders Association, the Texas Association of Builders and the National Association of Home Builders. His academic honor society membership is Phi Delta Phi, and he is part of the Texas Bar College and the Texas Aggie Bar Association.
Colleagues describe his background as a blend of construction know-how and courtroom training. He draws on both when preparing clients, reviewing contracts or arguing disputes. He practices construction-related civil litigation in Texas and in the federal district courts where he is admitted.
