About Shawn P.
Shawn P. Fox began his academic path studying criminal justice at Stephen F. Austin State University. He then turned to law, earning his J.D. from the University of Houston. That academic combination—criminal justice followed by a law degree—shaped an early interest in courtroom practice and procedure.
Licensed to practice in both Pennsylvania and Texas, Fox built his career around litigation. He holds memberships in a range of bar and trial organizations that reflect his professional interests. Those memberships include the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Houston Bar Association, the Houston Trial Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association.
His professional life is anchored at Tracey & Fox, where he serves as a partner. The partnership role involves managing cases, directing litigation strategy and overseeing courtroom preparation. Colleagues describe him as methodical in trial preparation and exacting in evidence work. He balances case management with appearances in court, handling both pretrial motion practice and jury trials.
The pattern of his memberships points to a practice centered on trial work. He regularly engages in civil litigation and represents clients through both negotiated settlements and trials. He has experience working through complex procedural matters and coordinating the various experts and evidence streams that accompany contentious cases.
Fox also participates in the professional community. His involvement in local and national bar associations keeps him connected to developments in procedural rules, trial advocacy and case law. He attends association meetings and continuing legal education programs to stay current on litigation trends. That network also provides access to peer review and collegial exchange, which can influence strategy in individual matters.
Outside the courtroom he is involved in the management side of the firm. As a partner, he contributes to business decisions, staffing and client intake policies. He works with junior attorneys on trial skills and helps shape the firm’s litigation approach. He is based at Tracey & Fox and maintains his practice across the firm’s offices. His practice currently concentrates on trial and litigation matters.
