About James A
James A Hanson built a career that moves between courtrooms and boardrooms. He combines a law degree and a business degree and has switched roles as circumstances demanded. The result is a practice that touches public defense, corporate counsel work and private practice.
He earned a J.D. from the University of Missouri–Columbia (2004). He later completed an MBA at Taylor University (2011). Those degrees inform both his legal analysis and his approach to client problems. He is admitted to practice in Missouri and Indiana.
Hanson launched Hanson Legal Solutions in 2013. He set up that practice to handle a range of client needs and to serve as a base for his outside work. Over the years the firm has been his platform for representing individuals and advising small organizations. He has balanced private practice demands with public-sector roles.
He served as a deputy public defender in Jay County in 2017 and then in Allen County in 2018. Those positions placed him on the front lines of criminal defense work at the county level. He handled arraignments, pleas and trials, and worked directly with clients who could not afford private counsel. Those years shaped his courtroom approach and familiarity with trial procedure.
In 2021 Hanson moved into in-house work as general counsel for All Green Corporation. That role required a different daily rhythm. He managed corporate legal issues, advised leadership on compliance and contracts, and coordinated outside counsel when specialized help was needed. The shift to corporate practice gave him experience in transactional law and corporate governance alongside his litigation background.
Hanson is a Registered Family Law Mediator under the Indiana Supreme Court. That certification fits into a practice that has woven together public defense, mediation and corporate matters. He also maintains current membership in professional associations and keeps active ties to both Missouri and Indiana legal communities.
He combines courtroom experience, in-house counsel work and private practice in his current work at Hanson Legal Solutions. His practice draws on his mediation credential and his years representing clients in county courts and advising a corporate client. He continues to handle matters that reflect that range of experience, including family law mediation alongside other civil and criminal matters.
