About Shaun

Shaun Southworth earned his law degree at Duke University School of Law after completing undergraduate studies at Grinnell College. He went on to build a practice that intersects state and federal work, adding appellate admissions to his credentials along the way.

He is admitted to practice in Kansas, Missouri and Georgia, and he also holds admission to the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Sixth Circuits. Those federal admissions allow him to appear in appellate matters outside the state-court system when a case moves beyond the district courts.

Southworth is a current member of the National Employment Lawyers Association. That affiliation places him in a professional community that handles workplace disputes and related litigation. Over time he has handled matters that require attention to employment law principles, procedural rules and the tactical demands of litigation.

His career has been organized around his work at Southworth PC. He practices from that firm’s offices and is identified with the firm’s docket in filings and public records. He participates in the day-to-day work of litigation and client counseling typical of a midsize plaintiff-side practice, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice and trial preparation.

He has argued procedural and substantive issues in federal courts and prepared briefs for appellate review in the circuits where he is admitted. Being credentialed in multiple jurisdictions also allows him to coordinate cases that span state lines or proceed on federal grounds. That practical flexibility has shaped how he approaches case intake and strategy.

Outside of court filings and briefs, Southworth contributes to the legal community through association membership and professional exchanges. His participation in National Employment Lawyers Association events keeps him engaged with current case law and practice trends that affect workplace litigation.

He maintains two office locations under the Southworth PC name and continues to accept matters that align with his litigation practice. His current practice centers on employment-related litigation and appellate work in the jurisdictions where he is admitted.
