About Sharita

Sharita Blacknall built her legal identity on steady work and courtroom experience. She entered the law after an undergraduate degree in literature, then spent years turning that grounding into a practice centered on family matters. Her path has been deliberate and public-facing, focused on cases that require both patience and precision.

She earned a B.A. in Literature from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1997. She then completed her legal studies at Texas A&M University School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2002. Those years shaped how she approaches disputes: careful analysis of the record, attention to narrative, and practical problem-solving when lives are being reorganized.

In 2003 she founded The Blacknall Firm and took the title of Chief Legal Strategist. Starting and sustaining a firm in the competitive Texas market has required handling the full rhythm of legal practice — client intake, courtroom filings, negotiations and trial work. Over time she has handled a range of family law matters and tried cases in state court.

Her professional life is anchored in the Dallas legal community. She is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association. She also participates in the family law sections of both the Dallas Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas. Those memberships have shaped her calendar: hearings, section meetings, short seminar panels and client consultations keep her connected to how local judges and practitioners approach family disputes.

Colleagues describe her as practical in preparation and persistent in court. Clients often note that she explains options clearly and lays out potential outcomes without overpromising. Her practice typically deals with the kinds of issues that bring families to court: divorce proceedings, child custody and visitation disputes, and questions about division of marital property. She has balanced courtroom work with settlement efforts, aiming to resolve matters efficiently when possible and litigate when necessary.

After more than two decades in practice she continues to run The Blacknall Firm and to represent clients across Texas. She maintains an active presence in local bar groups and tries cases in state court when the situation calls for a trial posture. She currently practices family law at The Blacknall Firm in Texas.
