Shannon McDonald Goldstein is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1993. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Goldstein is a partner at Michael B. Goldstein, a Professional Law Corporation, located in Palm Desert, California. She has been practicing law for over 30 years, serving clients throughout Riverside County and the surrounding areas.
Ms. Goldstein earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she graduated in 1993. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at Santa Clara University, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1990. During her time at McGeorge School of Law, she interned at the District Attorney’s office, gaining valuable insight into prosecutorial practices, which she now applies in her defense work. She also interned for a Los Angeles criminal defense attorney, where she worked for several years upon graduating.
Ms. Goldstein concentrates her practice in the areas of criminal defense, domestic violence, DUI & DWI, and traffic tickets. She represents individuals facing charges in Mono, Riverside, Sacramento, and San Bernardino Counties. Her practice encompasses all stages of litigation, including initial case evaluation, discovery, mediation, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings in both state and federal courts. She is known for her aggressive representation, focusing on achieving the best possible outcomes for her clients.
Throughout her career, Ms. Goldstein has handled cases in the Superior Court of California for the County of Riverside, the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. She has also appeared before the California Court of Appeal on multiple occasions. Prior to founding her own firm, she worked as an associate at a mid-size litigation firm in Palm Desert for five years. She practices alongside her husband, Michael Bernstein, whom she met at the Joshua Tree Courthouse, and they married in 1998. Together, they have two children, Matthew and Hailey.
Ms. Goldstein is an active member of the California Public Defenders Association (CPDA), the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), and the Desert Bar Association. She served as the Community Development Chair for the Junior League Palm Springs Desert Communities from 2007 to 2008. She is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to serve the diverse communities of Riverside County effectively.
