About Shanlon
Shanlon Wu earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1984. He completed his legal education in Washington, D.C., and entered practice at a time when federal litigation was reshaping after major developments in administrative and appellate law.
His early career included public service at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he served as an Assistant United States Lawyer beginning in 1990. That role placed him inside the federal system and provided courtroom experience in government litigation. He moved from government work into private practice in the years that followed, taking on roles that steadily increased in responsibility.
Wu's private practice record shows a sequence of partner positions. He was a partner at Wheat Wu PLLC in 2007 and joined Wu, Grohovsky & Whipple as a partner in 2010. In 2020 he became a partner at Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman PC. Along the way he also spent time as a legal analyst for CNN in 2018, explaining developments in the law to a national audience and translating complex legal issues for viewers.
He is admitted to practice before the D.C. Circuit and the Federal Circuit. Those admissions reflect a career that includes appellate work and federal litigation. Colleagues describe him as an attorney who moves comfortably between written advocacy and oral argument, and who has handled matters that require detailed understanding of federal procedure and appellate standards.
At Cohen Seglias Pallas Greenhall & Furman PC, Wu continues in private practice as a partner. His practice concentrates on appellate litigation and federal law, where he represents clients in court filings and arguments before federal appellate tribunals. He combines courtroom experience from his years at the Department of Justice with the demands of private-sector appellate representation, and he remains active in cases that require federal appellate advocacy.
