About Shahzad A

Shahzad A Dar earned two law degrees and a bachelor’s before beginning practice. He holds a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and a second J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law, after completing a B.S. at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Those academic stops shaped his legal training and provided exposure to different practice environments and regional legal cultures.

After law school, Dar pursued admission in both New Jersey and New York. He is admitted to practice in those states and has developed a practice that serves clients on both sides of the Hudson. Over the years he has handled matters that required attention to the contrast between New Jersey and New York law, building familiarity with the procedural and substantive differences that can affect clients who operate in or across the two jurisdictions.

Dar is a member of several bar organizations. He holds membership in the Rockland County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the New York State Bar Association. Those affiliations inform his professional network and provide continuing legal education opportunities. He takes part in local bar activities and uses those forums to stay current on developments in case law and practice rules that impact his day-to-day work.

Colleagues describe his approach as pragmatic and detail-oriented. He aims for clear communication and practical solutions. He prepares matters carefully and prefers to give clients straightforward explanations of options and likely outcomes rather than legalese. That method shapes how he meets deadlines, negotiates with opposing counsel, and prepares filings for tribunals or administrative bodies.

His practice operates across the New Jersey and New York corridor. He advises individuals and businesses on matters arising under state law and assists when cases or transactions touch both jurisdictions. He is accustomed to coordinating with local counsel, adjusting strategy to reflect differing courtroom practices, and responding to procedural variations between state systems.

Outside of casework, Dar continues to engage in programs offered by the bar associations he belongs to and draws on those resources to refine his practice. He keeps an active schedule and consults with clients from a range of backgrounds. He currently concentrates his work on serving clients in matters across New York and New Jersey.
