About Shahram
Shahram Miri trained first as a student of politics and then turned that interest into a legal career. He earned a B.A. in Political Science from San Diego State University and went on to receive his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Those two touchstones — an early engagement with political structures and formal legal training — shape the way he approaches legal questions.
After law school Miri began practicing in California. He has been a member of the State Bar of California since 2008 and maintains his license to practice in the state. Early in his career he added volunteer work to his roster. Since 2009 he has served as General Counsel for HealthCare Volunteer, providing legal advice and guidance to the organization while continuing his private practice.
Miri runs his practice through the Law Offices of Shahram Miri, Inc. He works from that office to handle client matters governed by California law. His background in political science informs how he assesses regulatory and administrative issues. His legal training at McGeorge provides the doctrinal foundation he uses in court filings and client counseling.
Colleagues and clients see him as methodical. He approaches cases by breaking complex problems into discrete tasks. He spends time on document review and on structuring arguments. He prepares for hearings and meetings with an eye toward practical outcomes rather than theoretical ones.
Outside of courtroom work he has kept a steady role advising a nonprofit. His work as General Counsel for HealthCare Volunteer has involved contracts, compliance issues, and internal governance matters. That role has required translating legal requirements into policies that nonprofit leaders can use.
Miri’s practice life balances caseload and advisory work. He has maintained his State Bar membership continuously since 2008 and continues to accept new matters at his office. He handles matters that arise under California law and provides counsel to organizations and individuals who need local legal assistance.
