About Sean
Sean Woods combines a legal education with earlier training in education and technology. He earned a J.D. from Arizona State University in 2010, an M.Ed. in Educational Technology from Northern Arizona University in 2007, and a B.S. in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix in 2005. Those credentials frame a career that moves between courtroom work and issues that touch on systems, data and institutions.
He entered private practice soon after law school. In 2011 he became a partner at Griffiths Law AZ. Two years later he joined Goldman and Zwillinger as an associate attorney. By 2015 he was a partner at Mills and Woods Law, PLLC. In 2020 he took a partner role at Law Badgers PLLC, where he continues to work.
Woods is admitted to practice in Arizona and in several federal forums. His admissions include the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials allow him to handle matters that can move from state trial courts to federal appellate panels.
Outside the office he has been active in professional circles. Since 2021 he has served on the Legal Committee of NORML, an association that brings attorneys together around questions of law and policy. That work is one part of how he engages with developments in statutory and regulatory areas that affect clients and practitioners alike.
Colleagues describe Woods as practical and methodical. He approaches cases by breaking problems into discrete steps. He draws on his training in educational technology and information systems when cases involve technical records or complex processes. That background informs how he prepares witnesses and organizes evidence for hearings and trials.
His career shows frequent movement between partnerships and firm roles. Those moves reflect shifts in responsibility as much as geography. Over time he has taken on cases in state and federal court, handled pretrial motion practice, and argued procedural points at the appellate level when necessary.
Woods currently practices as a partner at Law Badgers PLLC, handling litigation and client counseling in state and federal courts.
