About Sean Ross
Sean Ross Aiello earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee–Knoxville in 2008. He then completed both a Juris Doctor and a graduate degree in comparative law at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 2015. Those years shaped his early interest in courtroom procedure and comparative legal systems.
After law school, Aiello took on two judicial and practice-oriented clerkships. In 2014 he worked at the Law Offices of James Boren, then in 2015 he served as a law clerk to the 21st Judicial District Court. The clerkship gave him direct exposure to trial-level work and the daily mechanics of court proceedings.
Aiello joined Schell & Oglesby, LLC as an associate in 2016. He became a partner in 2021. Over the course of those years he has handled matters that span state and federal forums. He is licensed in Tennessee and admitted to practice before the Federal Circuit, and his work reflects those admissions. His experience at the firm includes representational duties in litigation and other contested matters.
Outside of firm work, Aiello has been active in bar leadership and professional education. He has been a member of the American Inns of Court and the Federalist Society since 2015. He has served on the Tennessee Bar Association’s Continuing Legal Education Committee since 2018 and represented District 11 in the Tennessee Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division beginning the same year. In 2017 and 2018 he chaired Middle Tennessee CLE programming for the Young Lawyers Division. Locally, he has been involved in the Williamson County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and has served as its president since 2019. Those roles involve organizing educational programs and providing governance within the young lawyer community.
Colleagues describe Aiello as methodical and practical in approach. He draws on judicial clerkship experience when preparing cases and on years of firm practice when advising clients. His career path shows an emphasis on combining courtroom experience with sustained involvement in bar education and leadership. He remains at Schell & Oglesby, LLC, handling matters in Tennessee and matters that arise before the Federal Circuit.
