About Sean

Sean Patton built a steady academic foundation before settling into practice. He earned a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1997, completed his J.D. at Temple University Beasley School of Law in 2002, and returned to advanced study with an LL.M. from the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School in 2011. Those credentials mark a long engagement with the law and a willingness to pursue additional training well after entering the profession.

After law school Patton continued to expand his legal education and credentials. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and is also admitted to the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. Those admissions reflect an attorney who has met rigorous licensing standards and pursued opportunities to maintain broad courtroom eligibility. The LL.M. from the Judge Advocate General’s institution further suggests he pursued graduate-level legal instruction in a specialized environment.

Patton’s work has centered on matters commonly associated with elder law and related areas. Over the course of his career he has handled estate planning documents, probate and estate administration matters, and issues that affect older adults and their families. He counsels clients on practical choices they must make about long-term care, decision-making authority, and the legal tools that preserve autonomy and protect assets. He aims to make complex statutes and program rules easier to understand for nonlawyers.

Colleagues describe Patton as methodical in his approach. He favors clear writing and careful preparation. In client meetings he tends to prioritize clarity: making sure people understand the legal implications of their options and the likely steps that follow. His education and admissions have given him the ability to engage with both routine and more technical problems that arise in elder law practice.

He practices from Schoffstall Elder Law. There he works with older adults, their families, and caretakers to address planning, public benefits eligibility, guardianship questions, and the administration of estates. He stays active in adapting documents and strategies to changing laws and client circumstances. He practices elder law at Schoffstall Elder Law, handling planning and advocacy for older clients and their families.
