About Scott Robert
Scott Robert Toner built a practical legal education before stepping into practice. He earned a J.D. from Stetson University College of Law in 2003 after completing a B.S. in Business Administration at the University of South Florida in 1999. Those academic years set the stage for a career that moves between litigation, insurance defense and alternative dispute resolution.
He began as an associate at Callahan & Martinez, LLC in 2003. That role launched his courtroom and client work. In 2006 he joined The Hartford Insurance Company as a staff lawyer, then moved to Farmers Insurance Company in 2010 in a similar capacity. Those positions gave him familiarity with defense-side insurance matters and the operational side of large carriers.
In 2011 Toner shifted toward practice leadership. He became managing partner of Toner & Ramirez, PA, taking on both casework and firm management. The move reflected a transition from staff roles at insurers to running a law practice that handled a range of civil matters. He maintained litigation responsibilities while overseeing daily office operations and guiding associate work.
In 2021 he established Nature Coast Mediation & Arbitration, LLC and assumed ownership. That step formalized a longer interest in resolving disputes outside the courtroom. He is admitted to practice in Florida and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. His memberships include the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators, the Association of South Florida Mediators & Arbitrators, and the Hernando County Bar Association. He has held professional memberships continuously since 2003.

He has handled work that spans the private carrier world and private practice, which informs his approach to dispute resolution. He conducts mediations and arbitrations for civil disputes, drawing on years of experience on both sides of the counsel table. He continues to accept roles in private mediation and arbitration panels and remains active in local professional associations.
He now directs Nature Coast Mediation & Arbitration, LLC, providing mediation and arbitration services in civil matters.
