About Scott N.
Scott N. Hensgens built his professional foundation in Louisiana. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University in 1993 and completed his Juris Doctor at Tulane University School of Law in 1997. Those years framed his entry into the state’s legal community and set the stage for a practice rooted in local courts and professional associations.
Early in his career he became affiliated with Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P. Records show him listed as a managing partner there in 1997. That role placed him in a firm environment where case management, client coordination and courtroom work are routine. Over time his practice and his responsibilities within the firm reflected steady involvement in the day-to-day work of litigation and firm leadership.
Hensgens has maintained active participation in several professional organizations. He holds membership in the Louisiana State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also belongs to the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, a group that represents defense practitioners across the state. Locally he has been involved in the Baton Rouge Bar Association for many years. He has been a member of the Baton Rouge Bar Association’s Bench-Bar Committee since 1998, served as Vice-Chair of the Bench-Bar Conference Committee in 2002 and as Chair in 2003, and received the Baton Rouge Bar Association President’s Award in 2003 for service to the association.
That mix of firm work and bar activity indicates a lawyer who spends much of his professional time engaged in the practical demands of litigation. His involvement with the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel and the bench-bar process points to regular interaction with judges, opposing counsel and courtroom procedures. He has balanced those duties with responsibilities tied to firm management and local bar programming.
As of 2026 he continues to practice law in Louisiana and remains connected to Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson, L.L.P. His current practice focuses on litigation in Louisiana courts.
