About Scott

Scott Murray built a steady academic foundation before entering the legal profession. He completed a B.A. at the University of Wyoming in 2005, earned an M.A. from Dartmouth College in 2008, and received his J.D. from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2011. Those credentials trace a path from local undergraduate study to graduate work in New England and back to Wyoming for law school.

His time in law school coincided with a period of transition for many young attorneys. He graduated in 2011 and went on to secure admission to practice in multiple jurisdictions. He is licensed to practice in both Wyoming and Colorado and holds current membership in the Wyoming State Bar. Those admissions allow him to work across state lines while remaining connected to the legal community in his home state.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in approach. He brings an academic sensibility to case preparation that reflects his graduate training and law school experience. He tends to emphasize careful analysis and attention to procedural detail. That combination is useful in contested matters and regulatory settings, where process matters as much as substance.

Murray’s educational background gives him a wider perspective on legal problems. A liberal arts undergraduate education, followed by a master’s program and a professional law degree, exposed him to different modes of reasoning. He has drawn on that range in client work and in interactions with opposing counsel and courts. He adapts to the demands of state practice while keeping an eye on the larger issues that a legal question can raise.

Public records show active membership in the Wyoming State Bar. He maintains his licenses in Wyoming and Colorado, which suggests a practice that spans both states. He has experience operating in the bar environment of Wyoming and understands the procedural and professional expectations that accompany bar membership there.

He currently practices law in Wyoming and Colorado.
