About Scott
Scott McPherson built a courtroom practice that started the year he opened his own firm. He has been the owner and lead trial lawyer at Scott M. McPherson, P.A. since 1995. That early leap into private practice set the shape of a career spent in contested matters and community organizations.
He completed undergraduate work in American history at the University of South Florida, earning a B.A. in 1995. He then took his legal training to the University of New Hampshire, where he received his J.D. in 1995. Those academic years provided a mix of historical perspective and legal training that he would carry into practice.
After law school he returned to the Gulf Coast area and established his firm. He has handled cases in Florida courts and in the Federal Circuit. Over more than three decades in practice he has stood as lead counsel at trial and managed the daily operations of a small firm. The combination of trial work and firm management has marked his professional life.
Community and professional involvement run alongside his legal work. He has been a member of the American Justice Association and the Florida Justice Association since 1995. He took a leadership role in the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce beginning in 2000, serving as chairman during his tenure. He also led local civic efforts as president of the Rotary Club of New Port Richey from 2000 until 2013. Those roles reflect an attorney who has balanced courtroom work with civic engagement.
Colleagues describe him as a courtroom lawyer who prefers contested proceedings and direct client contact. He prepares cases for trial and appears where factual disputes must be resolved in open court.
